Good news!!!

Last Friday (December 21st) I had my post op appointment. She said everything had healed up and that I could get back to my normal routine. Yay! I have never been more excited. I haven't had the time to get out there and exercise yet, but as soon as I am done being super busy I'll be starting up. I hope that once I do get back out there that maybe it won't be so cold out? Wishful thinking! Weather in Georgia varies. One day you are in the low to upper 50s but then the next day you are down in the 30s. I don't get it honestly.

Anyways, like I said in my previous post that as soon as I am back out there working out/running I'll be back to post.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Sorry for the lack of posts...

Since my last post I got super busy with work and then I had my surgery. Everything went great. Now I just feel like a ticking time bomb that is about to explode. I am soooo full of energy. I seriously miss working out. Working out to me is not only getting me in shape, but also helps me relieve stress. Once I am cleared from the doctor I am seriously going to do something fun to let all this energy out. I'd say I would run a 10k, but since I haven't ran in a long time I don't think that's a good idea.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. :) Christmas is only a few weeks away. One of my favorite times of the year. I just wish it didn't go by so fast. :(

Anyways, I just thought I would pop in and post a little something. Once I am cleared from the doctor I will be back to working out and blogging about it.

Until then....

Run Like Hell Results

I did the Run Like Hell 5k run on October 20th. It was a struggle for me this year, but it may have been because I hadn't been feeling good a few days before. Either way I only missed last years time by a minute. I completed it in 30 minutes and some seconds (I cant remember it at the moment). Like always the hills were killer. I hate them with a passion. Unfortunately, that will have to be my last run of 2012. I am going to be getting really busy with work soon and I am having some medical things done that I will not be able to go for runs or heck even do Insanity. I hate not being able to do anything. :(

I still haven't decided if I am going to do the Hot Chocolate run in 2013. It really just depends on what goes on with me health wise.

Lack of motivation

So I wasn't able to do my last week of Insanity for month 2. I want to say part of it had to be that I was stressed about my doctors appointment that was yesterday. I did go for a 2 mile run on Tuesday just to get out of the house for a little bit.

I am not able to do any exercise today or tomorrow. I hate it, but I don't want to make things worse than they already are. I hope come Saturday that I will be able to do my race at Oakland Cemetery.

I'll be starting Insanity over next week or the week after. I won't have to worry about anymore runs for this year so I can just focus on Insanity.

I'll be posting a list of runs I plan on doing in 2013. Maybe I will see some local people there. :)

Not sure of the day

So I have lost count of the days that I have been doing Insanity. I know I could easily scroll down and look, but truth is I can't count the days that I didnt do anything.

Anyways, I did some max cardio conditioning today. A wonderful work out. I just love pushing myself every time during it. Now the other work outs, not so much. Maybe its because you aren't doing 3 sets of different routines. Who knows.

2 days off plus potential race in Jan

So like I mentioned in my previous entries, I decided I needed to take some days off. I have worked my butt in these last couple of weeks that I just needed a few days to recover and relax. I will admit I was still beat from this weekend yesterday so I guess its a good thing that I did take off.

Anyways, tomorrow I plan on doing some max cardio conditioning. I don't want to lose what I have already gained. Next week I will definitely get back on a normal work out routine, but since I had so much going on this week and needed that break I got to start somewhere.

I was looking at some up and coming race and I am really considering doing the Hot Chocolate 5k in January. I know it is going to be really cold out, but it wouldn't be the first race that I have done in the freezing cold. If I end up doing that race it will help prepare me for my next race which will be in February. I usually try and do one race each month until July 4th. I still have some time to decide if I want to do this race or not. I just thought it would be cool to reward myself with hot chocolate after a very cold race.

Would have been the start of week 8

I wasn't able to do any Insanity today. I was just going to do the fit test, but had to be up earlier than normal to help move some things. So, I guess, you can sort of say I got a work out, right?

Anyways, I am probably going to take a few days off from working out to let my body catch up on me. I know, I know, I shouldn't, but I need to. I am just completely exhausted. I am hoping to get back to Insanity come Wednesday. Once I am done with Insanity for this month, I plan on starting back over with the month one stuff. Maybe I will gain a work out partner by then!.

Ella's Run 5k

So today I participated in Right to Hike's Ella's Run 5k. I ran in this race last year and even though I had fun, I knew what to expect...... HILLS! Not just your normal hills. I would go up a hill and turn around and go up an even longer hill. LOL! Oh, and some of it was a trail too. I really think that slows you down especially when you start off on pavement and then go to gravel/dirt and then back to pavement. Or maybe I am just a picky runner. Anyways, I don't have my official time yet, but my Nike + app said I finished around 29 min. This is about the same time that I finished last year.

Like all my other races I stayed and waited on the awards. It came to my age group and I was already thinking that I hadn't placed. I know I have such confidence in myself.

My age group 25 to 29 was called....

Third place person was named..

Then came the second place person...

Which happened to be ME!! OMG, I actually placed in a race! I mean, I know this race wasn't as big as some of the other races that I normally do, but still. I am still in shock that I placed.

I have 2 weeks to get ready for my Run Like Hell 5k in Oakland Cemetery. I hope I do well in this race as well. I know this one will be a tad bigger so I will have to run super fast. :)

Here is a picture of me after completing Ella's Run:

Day 44 of Insanity (Week 7 Completed)

Took it easy today. Tomorrow morning is my first 5k since I started Insanity. I am excited but also nervous. I really don't like running on this course, but hoping that Insanity helped strengthen my legs to take on the hills.

I will post something tomorrow about how I did. Wish me luck!

Thursday, October 4, 2012

Day 43 of Insanity

My toe gave me a little bit of a problem today during Max Cardio Conditioning. I sort of took it easy. I really didn't want to cause any more aggravation.

Tomorrow is my no work out day and rest up before my race.

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Day 42 of Insanity

Well, my recovery day didn't go as planned. I ended up hurting my big toe on my right foot and since I have a race this weekend I felt like I needed to stay off of it, and hope that it doesn't give me any problems.

Tomorrow I am going to Max Cardio Conditioning and Cardio Abs. It will be my last work out of the week since I never do any sort of work out the day before a race.

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Day 41 of Insanity

So today was Max Interval Plyo. I got a slow start to it this morning, but I got up and pushed play. I feel great knowing that I completed it. Of course I am like that with every work out.

Tomorrow is a much needed recovery day.

I am almost done with week 7 of Insanity. Like I mentioned in previous entries last week, I am not going to be able to do my work on Friday. I have a 5k run on Saturday. I normally don't do any sort of exercise the day before a race to give my body time to recover.

Speaking of the 5k, this will be my first time doing a race without necessarily training for. I am interested to see how much Insanity has in fact help tone up my legs. I can definitely see the definition, but are they actually stronger? We shall see on Saturday at 9 AM. I will be sure to post an update sometime on Saturday.

Day 40 of Insanity

I just have to say I have Max Interval Circuit. I feel like crap all the way through it. I just have to keep pushing. No one ever said that the second month was going to be easy...cause it isn't.

Tomorrow is Max Interval Plyo. I am not looking forward it, but I would prefer it over Circuit any day of the week. LOL

Sunday, September 30, 2012

Day 39 of Insanity

So today was Max Cardio Conditioning. It is still one of my favorite work outs for this second month. Not really much to talk about other than I was able to really push myself more today.

Yesterday was my off day, but I didnt go running. I decided I needed to relax.

Friday, September 28, 2012

Day 38 of Insanity (Week 6 Completed)

So like I mentioned in my previous entry, I planned on skipping Max Interval Plyo today. I went with Cardio Abs. It was just what I needed. I wanted to do something where I was having to focus strictly on my abs. Now don't get me wrong these other work outs are definitely helping me, I just wanted to do something a bit different today. Plus, if I am coming down with something, I would rather do something a little light.

Tomorrow is my off day. I may go for a 2 mile run. I will see. I am going to be at a Braves game tonight, so it will depend on when I get home tonight and how late I sleep in tomorrow.

Thursday, September 27, 2012

Day 37 of Insanity

Ok, so now I have three work outs that have made me want to puke during them. Max Interval Cardio Circuit killing me. Part of it may have had something to do with how I was feeling the day before. Who knows. I just know that I literally was wanting to run to the bathroom about half way through it. I was able to do finish it though. That counts, right?

Tomorrow is suppose to Max Interval Plyo, but instead I am going to do some cardio abs. Next Friday I won't be doing a work out period. I have a race the next day. I never do anything the day before a race.

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

Day 36 of Insanity

It was suppose to be Max Recovery, but my max recovery consisted of me being lazy and on the couch. The reason I was like that was because I woke up feeling awful. I hate the change of weather.

Tomorrow is Max Interval Cardio Circuit. Let's hope I feel up to it.

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Day 35 of Insanity

Today was Max Cardio Conditioning. Let me just say out of all the work outs this one and Pure Cardio are the only one's to make me feel like I am going to puke. I don't want to scary anyone with that though. I was able to get past that feeling and finish the work out. I know over time I wont be feeling like that.

It was sort of rough getting started this morning since I was so sore still, but once I was up and moving I didn't feel it anymore.

Tomorrow is Max Recovery. I am REALLY looking forward to that. Still have to work out, but get to take it somewhat easy.

Monday, September 24, 2012

Day 34 of Insanity

Max Interval Plyo.....you were interesting.

The whole work out wasn't too bad. There was only one thing that I wasn't able to do because of my wrist and that was the side push ups. Ever since I broke my wrist back in the day I have never been able to get it stronger. I tried doing the work out, but I had to stop and sit it out before I hurt myself. Other than not being able to do one of the work outs, I have to say I did pretty good. Granted I did have to stop a few times, but that is to be expected plus if I did it all without any sort of rest I would be dead right now.

I can definitely tell that I am sore already. Not complaining though. Its a good sore which is what I want to feel. I at least know I worked out my body.

Start of month 2 (Day 33?)

I am getting confused with the number of days. I don't count my day off cause I don't do anything on that day.

Anyways, so today was the start of month 2. I decided that I was going to only do the fit test. I would have done both the exercise and fit test, but I really didn't want to kill myself the first day, PLUS I am always sore after my run.

So with the fit test I did okay. I definitely improved in some areas and others I seemed to stay the same. No biggie. I will get it.

Tomorrow I will do Max Interval Plyo. Not going to lie, I am scared but I will be fine. I know I can do this.

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Off Day...sort of

Today was suppose to be my off day from doing anything, but since it was really nice out I decided to go to the park for a walk with the dog. One loop around the big lake at the park is 2.2 miles. I walked her 2.3 miles. I then decided I wanted to run it. I can't go to the park just to run...I have to run. So I ran the 2.2 mile loop. I have to say I did better than I had expected. I wasn't tired in the legs like I normally am after tackling the hills there. I was having more trouble getting my breathing under control. I felt like I was a tad faster with the hills. I didn't struggle going up them like normal. I hope to some day soon go a total of 4.4 miles around the loop to see if the hills give me trouble the second time around.

Man, I miss running. 2 weeks until my 5k run. Hopefully I can get some more 2 or 3 mile runs in there to help me out some. If not, I am going to be relying on Insanity. LOL!

Tomorrow is the start of the new month. Yikes!

Friday, September 21, 2012

Day 32 of Insanity (Week 5 Completed)

Well, I have completed week 5. I wasn't able to do as much as I wanted, but I finished nonetheless.

Tomorrow is my off day and then on Sunday I will begin month 2 of Insanity with the Fit Test.

Over the first month, I have definitely learned that I can do it. No one said it was going to be easy, but if you push more and more each day you will be better than you were the first day. I am hoping that I can do the same in month 2. I am not going to lie I am sort of scared, but also excited at the same time.

Thursday, September 20, 2012

Day 30 and 31 of Insanity

Well, it finally hit me. I wasn't able to do work out Wednesday or today (Thursday). I woke up feeling like crap yesterday and this morning I woke up with a migraine. So yeah, I wasn't able to do Insanity. Oh well, I can't force myself to do something if I am not feeling right. I am hoping tomorrow (Friday) that I am able to get up and do something. Here's to hope I get to feeling better and I can finish this week out.

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Day 29 of Insanity

Just another day of my recovery week. Nothing too exciting to really blog about.

Monday, September 17, 2012

Day 28 of Insanity

So since I wasn't able to do Insanity yesterday (the first time I have missed a day since I started), I started up my recovery week today. It felt great to take it slow but still work out. I will keep doing this routine all week.

Next week will start the craziness!

I also decided that I am going to do a 5k trail run on Oct 6th. I did this run last year and had already decided that I wasn't going to do it, but after much consideration I have decided to do it. It will be a big test for me since I haven't ran since before I started Insanity. Bring on the hills I tell you! I am ready to see if I can handle them. LOL! I am sure with all the leg work outs that it wont be too hard for me. Or at least that is what I am hoping.

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Day 27 of Insanity (Start of week 5 aka Recovery Week)

Well, today I was suppose to start week 5, but I ended up staying down in Auburn after the game on Saturday. No biggie. I would have been exhausted anyways since the heat from the game really took everything I had in me.

Monday I will start up my recovery week.

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Off Day from Insanity

Today is my off day. I am going to be spending my off day in Auburn watching my Tigers play. I couldn't ask for a better day off. :)

Friday, September 14, 2012

Day 26 of Insanity (Week 4 completed)

I finished out week 4 of Insanity with Plyometric Cardio Circuit. I pushed myself more today than I have these last 4 weeks or so it seemed. So glad I finished out strong. :)

Saturday is my off day and then on Sunday I begin my recovery week. I can't say I am really looking forward to month 2 just yet, but I know I will be fine.

If my calculations are right I have lost a total of 3.4 pounds in the first month of Insanity and about a 1.5 inches off around my waist. If I keep it up in month 2 I am hoping to shed even more. If not, I will just keep doing this all over until I am at where I want to be. I am starting to see more of my abs and I can definitely feel them a lot more. So I at least know it is working. Each person is different. Some can tone up fast and others take a bit longer. I think when it comes to my stomach area I am going to be one that takes a bit longer.

Here is to staying stronger and going into month 2 with high expectations.

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Day 25 of Insanity

Well, I was going to do Cardio Abs first today before Pure Cardio, but of course I didn't think about it until after I had already started the warm up. :-/ Oh well! Maybe next time
I go through the month one schedule I'll switch it up.

This was my last Pure Cardio/Cardio Abs of month one. As much as I hate doing Pure Cardio, I love how I am pushing myself more and more. My legs were really feeling the burn. I use to think doing lunges in the gym with weights was bad, but after doing pure cardio that seems like nothing.

Cardio Abs was tough today. I pushed and pushed. I felt that crazy burn. I was so happy to be able to stretch out my abs afterwards. That has to be the most amazing feeling...ever!

Tomorrow will be my last day of week 4. I believe I have to do Plyomeric Cardio Circuit. I will also weigh in this week and see if I lost any weight.

Saturday, of course, is my rest day. Can't wait! :)

Sunday will start week 5 aka recovery week plus I'll probably start running 2 miles every other day to get back into it.

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Day 24 of Insanity

My last Insanity Cardio Recovery of month one. :( I can't believe how quickly this month went by. It seems like yesterday I was just starting up this work out program.

Tomorrow is Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs.

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Day 23 of Insanity

Good ole Plyometric Cardio Circuit. I really wasn't feeling it this morning. I went to bed at a descent time and yet still felt tired. I am glad though I didn't back out of the work out. I finished even if it felt like a crappy work out.

Tomorrow is Cardio Recovery.

Monday, September 10, 2012

Day 22 of Insanity

Cardio Power and Resistance is still one of my favorite work outs in Insanity. I did a lot better today then I have in the past, so that is a good thing. :)

Tomorrow is Plyometric Cardio Circuit which is probably my second favorite work out...some days. LOL

Sunday, September 9, 2012

Day 21 of Insanity

Pure Cardio wasn't too bad today. Cardio Abs on the other hand was interesting. I was feeling the burn a lot more. I love that feeling. :)

I also decided to weigh in. I am down another 1.2 pounds. Not too bad. Again, I am not trying to lose weight. My main goal is to tone up. If I do lose weigh then so be it.

For you to really see results from doing any sort of work out you have to change your eating habits. I am not going to lie it is hard. There are days where I want to say screw it and just pig out on the most unhealthiest things. I don't because I want that body that I am fighting for each and every day.

I am ready for some more Insanity tomorrow. :)

Saturday, September 8, 2012

Another day off

I have enjoyed my day off. I really haven't done much but watch college football ALL day.

I can't wait to get started on week 4 tomorrow even if I have to do Pure Cardio/Cardio Abs.

Friday, September 7, 2012

Day 20 of Insanity (Third Week Complete)

Well I finished my third week of Insanity. Today wasn't too bad as far as doing the moves. I think what I dread the most is the warm up. I have a tendency of burning myself out during that, so when it comes to doing the actual work out I am worn out especially when it comes to the third set of them. Anyways, so today I took it a bit easy during the warm ups. I was able to push as much as I could to get the moves done along with Shaun T. Granted I don't go as fast as them (depending on the move), but I at least get it done. LOL

I decided this morning that since I hadn't really measured around my stomach in a while that I would do that. The stomach is the ONLY area that I really want changed. My arms were already toned before starting this work out and my legs come and go depending on if I am working on them at them, and if I am running a lot. Anyways, after the first week of Insanity I have lost half a inch. Today when I measured I noticed I have lost 1.5 inches. I am not expecting my stomach to tone up over night. I know that as long as I keep pushing it that I will eventually get the abs that I want. I am just happy that I can see results. :)

Tomorrow is a much needed day off. I can not wait!

Sunday starts week 4 with Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs. Fun Stuff!

Thursday, September 6, 2012

Day 19 of Insanity

Completed my 19th day of Insanity this morning. I just have one more day left of week 3. Wow, where has this month gone? It seems like yesterday I just started this work out program and now I am close to being finish.

Tomorrow is Plyometric Cardio Circuit. It's funny I either love getting up and doing this work out or I hate it. I guess we shall see if I loved or hated it tomorrow. The one thing I do love about Plyometric Cardio Circuit is the very end when we do jabs, cross jacks, upper cuts, and attack.

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

Day 18 of Insanity

So today was again another easy work out. I love Cardio Recovery days. Only 2 more days left in week 3. Soon I will be done with my first month of Insanity.

I am not sure if I am going to be able to move on to the second month just yet due to some personal problems going on. If anything, I will do a bit of it just to stay in shape until I am able to do the full second month.

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Day 17 of Insanity

Whew! Man, I just did not feel right this morning going into Pure Cardio. Its probably because its a very yucky, rainy day. Who knows. I got off to a late start or so it felt like it.

I pushed and pushed through Pure Cardio and finished even if I wanted to quit (Yep, I still have some of those days. Not as many though which is good). After finishing up Pure Cardio I jumped right into Cardio Abs. Going from one intense work out to another not so intense work out is hard for me. I was completely tired so when we were having to Tuck Jumps and Wide Tuck Jumps I was struggling. I thought about doing the abs portion  first and then doing Pure Cardio, but I still think I'll be tired going into the most intense work out ever (until next month). Maybe I'll give it a try though the next time I have to do both.

Tomorrow is Cardio Recovery. Even though you are still working out it feels good to just somewhat take it easy and S-T-R-E-T-C-H out those sore muscles.

Monday, September 3, 2012

Day 16 of Insanity

Cardio Circuit is slowly becoming another one of my favorite work outs. As each week passes I get better and better at certain work outs.

After coming off an awesome fit test I knew I was going to have to step it up a notch. I pushed and pushed. I still have to take water breaks, but so do the people in his videos. If I don't I am sure I would pass out or feel really sick to my stomach the rest of the day.

Tomorrow is Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs. I am so not looking forward to Pure Cardio. I can handle Cardio Abs even after doing Pure Cardio.

Sunday, September 2, 2012

Day 15 Insanity Fit Test (Start of Week 3)

I went into this Fit Test thinking that I will probably show a little improvement, but boy was I wrong. LOL! I completely blew some of my last results out of the water. Some I only improved by 5 extra reps, but others I really killed it.  Here's to hoping the next few weeks are just as good as the last 2.

Saturday, September 1, 2012

Off Day

Had another much needed day off. I wasn't able to sleep in like I wanted to.

Tomorrow is my fit test day. I can sort of sleep in tomorrow since it won't take me long to do the test.

Friday, August 31, 2012

Day 14 (Second Week Completed)

Today was Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs. I really wasn't in the mood for both. I had originally planned to cut Pure Cardio short because I didn't think I was going to have any energy left to complete Cardio Abs, but after getting into the work out I finished it and also cardio abs without cutting either of them short. Even though I really didn't need to cut cardio abs short cause its only 15 minutes long.

Anyways, so my second week is complete and I am down 2.2 pounds just this week. Again I am not trying to lose weight. If it happens then so be it. I am trying to finish toning up that I was having a hard time doing at the gym UNLESS I spent every minute there.

Sunday is my fit test and the start of my third week. I am curious to see how much I have improved.

Thursday, August 30, 2012

Day 11 of Insanity

Day 11 down and only one more day to go this week. Today was a really good work out. So much has happened this week that I was able to take it out on the work out and push through it. Definitely a good stress reliever.

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Day 10 of Insanity

Today was cardio recovery. I love recovery days.  It felt great just to somewhat take it easy.

Tomorrow is my favorite work out. Can't wait!

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

Day 9 of Insanity

Well today was much better. I felt better after completing the cardio circuit. :) I am getting better each day.

Tomorrow is cardio recovery. I can't wait to have a slower day.

Monday, August 27, 2012

Day 8 of Insanity

Ahh, Pure Cardio... I love you but hate you at the same time.  I did a lot better today then I did  last week. Or at least I like to think I did.  On Friday I have to do this and also cardio abs. Yay!! Lol

Tomorrow is Cardio Circuit.

Sunday, August 26, 2012

Day 7 of Insanity (Start of week 2)

So today I started week 2 of Insanity. It wasn't one of my best work outs but hey, I at least pressed play and finished it. I immediately laid down afterwards. I guess I pushed myself too much today. LOL! Note to self don't over do it.

In other news I decided I was going to weigh in, I have lost 1.4 pounds since I started last week and have lost a half inch around my stomach. Not bad. I am not wanting to really lose weight but mainly tone up.

I am slowly but surely seeing results :)

Tomorrow is Pure Cardio. It is one of my least favorite work outs, but I will get it done like it or not.

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Insanity Off Day

Today was my off day. I was so happy to be able to sleep in and not have to get up, and work out. Don't get me wrong I love doing Insanity, but after 6 days of it I was ready for the off day.

I start week two tomorrow. I can't wait! :)

Friday, August 24, 2012

Day 6 of Insanity

I have completed week one of Insanity. It has been a tough week, but I pushed through it. I am really looking forward to week two that starts on Sunday. :)

Today I did a little better than I did on Monday so that is a big improvement. I know that each week I will get better and better as long as I keep pushing myself.

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Day 5 of Insanity

....WOW....

Today was Pure Cardio. I want to say for the first time all week I really wanted to puke. Maybe it had something to do with the fact I wasn't feeling good when I woke up this morning or maybe a combination of both. Either way I think that had to be one of the toughest work outs for me...yet.

Tomorrow is day 6. I am looking forward to finish out this week strong. :)

Inspiration

If this doesn't inspire you then I don't know what will...

Day 4 of Insanity

So today was exactly what I needed. I loved doing the lunges, squats, and balancing. It felt great to stretch out the legs.

Tonight I am going to go out and look at some cross training shoes so I don't have to wear one of the pairs of running shoes I have. Plus it will be better for me in the long run. Hopefully I am able to find my size since I am tall I have a bigger foot.

I can't believe how quickly my first week of Insanity is going. Its funny usually an hour or two after I am done working out I am ready to go on to the next disc. I just hope to keep this up come week 3 or 4.

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Day 3 of Insanity

Today wasn't nearly as bad as yesterday. Yes, I am sore, but only in my calves. Once I was warmed up I forgot all about them.

I am sure my body is pretty pissed at me. Normally when I work out and get sore I take a day off to recover, but with insanity I am going until I get to my off day. My day won't be until Saturday and even then I dont know how much of a break I am going to allow myself. If the weather is nice I may try and go for a short 2 mile run. Nothing too crazy. I am still not sure cause I really do not want to do anything to hurt myself.

So far my left knee has been holding up well to Insanity. I make sure I am wearing my brace before starting because I really can't afford an even more messed up knee..

Anyways, so far I am liking this work out. I know over time I will get better.

Tomorrow I'll be doing Cardio Recovery.

I also don't know why my previous entry is all in white. I tried deleting it and then retyping what I had, but it still does that. Just highlight over it to see what I said.

Day 2 of Insanity

OMG! Today was pretty intense. I have been working out at the gym off and on since January about two to three times a week. Today really showed me that I am not as in shape as I thought I was. I pushed as hard as I could. I am hoping when I do the Plyometric Cardio Circuit again this week that I am able to ten times better than I did today.

I am also a little sore from the fit test, but I knew it was going to happen. Darn you fit test, lol!

Anyways, I am soooooo ready for day 3.

Is it Tuesday yet?

Day 1 of Insanity

I finished day 1 of Insanity which was just the fit test. I did okay. I can't wait to see how I do in two weeks when I do it again. I am hoping to really improve in some areas. :)

Run Like Hell 5k

This is by far one of my favorite races to do. You start in Oakland Cemetery and make your way down to Grant Park/Zoo Atlanta and then back up to end in the cemetery. Each year it seems like we end more and more into the cemetery. This race is also costume themed.

I will running my 3rd Run Like Hell this October. I've been told I should run in costume this year. I just don't know if I will be comfortable or not.

Here are two pictures of me running beside a zombie while making our way to the finish line.

If you are wanting to do a fun Halloween themed race, I highly suggest this one. They also have a kids race called, "Run Like Heck".

Here is a link for all the info and who knows maybe I will see you at the race.

Introduction

In 2005, I got the bright idea that I was going to participate in my first ever 10k race and not just any race..  The AJC Peachtree Road Race. This race at the time had around 50,000 to 55,000 participates. Crazy! Since that year I have participated 6 more times. Each year has gotten better and better.

Along with doing 10k's, I have participated in eleven 5k's. I laugh because I only do one 10k a year and that is the Peachtree. Maybe and hopefully soon, I will do another 10k other than the Peachtree.

"Will you ever go for a half or full marathon?" The answer is: I don't think I'll ever do a full, but I will eventually do a half. I want to finish one here in my home state (Georgia) and then hopefully go run a Disney Half.

When I am not running I am usually at the gym lifting weights. Although running helps you, do need to add some weights in there on your non running days. I try to go at least 2 or 3 times a week.

Like I mentioned in the previous post, I would like to be able share my runs/races, goals, and work out routines for others. I find reading about someone else's accomplishments helps me stay motivated to go out and meet my own goals that I have set for myself.

Within the next week or so, I will beginning the 60 day work out of Insanity. I will be keeping track of my progress on here and maybe posting pictures. Even though I will be busy working out 6 days a week, I will still find time to go on some runs even if they have to be short. I can't stop running...ever!
