Day 14 (Second Week Completed)

Today was Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs. I really wasn't in the mood for both. I had originally planned to cut Pure Cardio short because I didn't think I was going to have any energy left to complete Cardio Abs, but after getting into the work out I finished it and also cardio abs without cutting either of them short. Even though I really didn't need to cut cardio abs short cause its only 15 minutes long.

Anyways, so my second week is complete and I am down 2.2 pounds just this week. Again I am not trying to lose weight. If it happens then so be it. I am trying to finish toning up that I was having a hard time doing at the gym UNLESS I spent every minute there.

Sunday is my fit test and the start of my third week. I am curious to see how much I have improved.

Day 11 of Insanity

Day 11 down and only one more day to go this week. Today was a really good work out. So much has happened this week that I was able to take it out on the work out and push through it. Definitely a good stress reliever.

Day 10 of Insanity

Today was cardio recovery. I love recovery days.  It felt great just to somewhat take it easy.

Tomorrow is my favorite work out. Can't wait!

Day 9 of Insanity

Well today was much better. I felt better after completing the cardio circuit. :) I am getting better each day.

Tomorrow is cardio recovery. I can't wait to have a slower day.

Day 8 of Insanity

Ahh, Pure Cardio... I love you but hate you at the same time.  I did a lot better today then I did  last week. Or at least I like to think I did.  On Friday I have to do this and also cardio abs. Yay!! Lol

Tomorrow is Cardio Circuit.

Day 7 of Insanity (Start of week 2)

So today I started week 2 of Insanity. It wasn't one of my best work outs but hey, I at least pressed play and finished it. I immediately laid down afterwards. I guess I pushed myself too much today. LOL! Note to self don't over do it.

In other news I decided I was going to weigh in, I have lost 1.4 pounds since I started last week and have lost a half inch around my stomach. Not bad. I am not wanting to really lose weight but mainly tone up.

I am slowly but surely seeing results :)

Tomorrow is Pure Cardio. It is one of my least favorite work outs, but I will get it done like it or not.

Insanity Off Day

Today was my off day. I was so happy to be able to sleep in and not have to get up, and work out. Don't get me wrong I love doing Insanity, but after 6 days of it I was ready for the off day.

I start week two tomorrow. I can't wait! :)

Day 6 of Insanity

I have completed week one of Insanity. It has been a tough week, but I pushed through it. I am really looking forward to week two that starts on Sunday. :)

Today I did a little better than I did on Monday so that is a big improvement. I know that each week I will get better and better as long as I keep pushing myself.

Day 5 of Insanity

....WOW....

Today was Pure Cardio. I want to say for the first time all week I really wanted to puke. Maybe it had something to do with the fact I wasn't feeling good when I woke up this morning or maybe a combination of both. Either way I think that had to be one of the toughest work outs for me...yet.

Tomorrow is day 6. I am looking forward to finish out this week strong. :)

Inspiration

If this doesn't inspire you then I don't know what will...

Day 4 of Insanity

So today was exactly what I needed. I loved doing the lunges, squats, and balancing. It felt great to stretch out the legs.

Tonight I am going to go out and look at some cross training shoes so I don't have to wear one of the pairs of running shoes I have. Plus it will be better for me in the long run. Hopefully I am able to find my size since I am tall I have a bigger foot.

I can't believe how quickly my first week of Insanity is going. Its funny usually an hour or two after I am done working out I am ready to go on to the next disc. I just hope to keep this up come week 3 or 4.

Day 3 of Insanity

Today wasn't nearly as bad as yesterday. Yes, I am sore, but only in my calves. Once I was warmed up I forgot all about them.

I am sure my body is pretty pissed at me. Normally when I work out and get sore I take a day off to recover, but with insanity I am going until I get to my off day. My day won't be until Saturday and even then I dont know how much of a break I am going to allow myself. If the weather is nice I may try and go for a short 2 mile run. Nothing too crazy. I am still not sure cause I really do not want to do anything to hurt myself.

So far my left knee has been holding up well to Insanity. I make sure I am wearing my brace before starting because I really can't afford an even more messed up knee..

Anyways, so far I am liking this work out. I know over time I will get better.

Tomorrow I'll be doing Cardio Recovery.

I also don't know why my previous entry is all in white. I tried deleting it and then retyping what I had, but it still does that. Just highlight over it to see what I said.

Day 2 of Insanity

OMG! Today was pretty intense. I have been working out at the gym off and on since January about two to three times a week. Today really showed me that I am not as in shape as I thought I was. I pushed as hard as I could. I am hoping when I do the Plyometric Cardio Circuit again this week that I am able to ten times better than I did today.

I am also a little sore from the fit test, but I knew it was going to happen. Darn you fit test, lol!

Anyways, I am soooooo ready for day 3.

Is it Tuesday yet?

Day 1 of Insanity

I finished day 1 of Insanity which was just the fit test. I did okay. I can't wait to see how I do in two weeks when I do it again. I am hoping to really improve in some areas. :)

Run Like Hell 5k

This is by far one of my favorite races to do. You start in Oakland Cemetery and make your way down to Grant Park/Zoo Atlanta and then back up to end in the cemetery. Each year it seems like we end more and more into the cemetery. This race is also costume themed.

I will running my 3rd Run Like Hell this October. I've been told I should run in costume this year. I just don't know if I will be comfortable or not.

Here are two pictures of me running beside a zombie while making our way to the finish line.

If you are wanting to do a fun Halloween themed race, I highly suggest this one. They also have a kids race called, "Run Like Heck".

Here is a link for all the info and who knows maybe I will see you at the race.

Introduction

In 2005, I got the bright idea that I was going to participate in my first ever 10k race and not just any race..  The AJC Peachtree Road Race. This race at the time had around 50,000 to 55,000 participates. Crazy! Since that year I have participated 6 more times. Each year has gotten better and better.

Along with doing 10k's, I have participated in eleven 5k's. I laugh because I only do one 10k a year and that is the Peachtree. Maybe and hopefully soon, I will do another 10k other than the Peachtree.

"Will you ever go for a half or full marathon?" The answer is: I don't think I'll ever do a full, but I will eventually do a half. I want to finish one here in my home state (Georgia) and then hopefully go run a Disney Half.

When I am not running I am usually at the gym lifting weights. Although running helps you, do need to add some weights in there on your non running days. I try to go at least 2 or 3 times a week.

Like I mentioned in the previous post, I would like to be able share my runs/races, goals, and work out routines for others. I find reading about someone else's accomplishments helps me stay motivated to go out and meet my own goals that I have set for myself.

Within the next week or so, I will beginning the 60 day work out of Insanity. I will be keeping track of my progress on here and maybe posting pictures. Even though I will be busy working out 6 days a week, I will still find time to go on some runs even if they have to be short. I can't stop running...ever!

Welcome

Hello and welcome to my blog. I will be using this to talk about my training, races, and work out routines.
